MANY FACES OF NASHVILLE |
1:00pm - 5:00pm |
$84 |

It has been said that music is the only barometer of the human soul. If that is true, then Music City will help you discover your soul. For more than 200 years, music has left an indelible imprint on this town…and in return, Nashville has left its own unique mark on music heard around the globe. We begin with a driving tour of Music Row, the main artery to the heart of Nashville, home to recording studios and music publishing offices. Afterwards, it’s on through Nashville’s historic downtown as we drive by Fort Nashborough, a painstaking re-creation of the fort built in 1779 to protect and shelter early settlers, which now serves as a monument to those courageous city founders. Our tour concludes at the Country Music Hall of Fame, the world’s largest research center dedicated to a single form of American music. The Hall of Fame provides guests with an in-depth look at the people, places and instruments that have contributed to the development of country music.

- Saturday, January 12 | MANSIONS OF THE SOUTH: ANTEBELLUM DREAMS |
1:00pm - 5:00pm |
$72 |
 |
The first stop of the afternoon is the South’s most rewarding showplace, Belle Meade Plantation, known as the “Queen of the Tennessee Plantations.” The fully restored Greek Revival mansion was completed in 1853 and the grounds include a large carriage house, stable, log cabin, winery, and several other original buildings.
Then take a short drive to Belmont Mansion, a villa built in 1850 that was the summer home of Adelicia Acklen, an extraordinary woman who married a then unheard-of three times. Adelicia was reputed to be the wealthiest woman in the United States in the mid-nineteenth century. An ornate Italianate design, the home features many of the original furnishings and includes marble fountains, cast-iron gazebos, and statuary that are still standing as evidence of ornate, formal gardens.

- Tuesday, January 15 | Belle Meade Plantation Culinary Tour |
1:00pm - 5:00pm |
$108 |
 |
To truly know Southern cooking one must know the traditions upon which we build. To set the stage for this southern culinary adventure, we will tour one of the South's great mansions, Belle Meade Plantation. Belle Meade Plantation served as headquarters of Confederate General James R. Chalmers, and in 1864 part of the Battle of Nashville was fought in the front yard. In the 19th century the plantation was also a world renowned horse breeding and racing farm known for its horses and hospitality. After touring the main house, the tour spends time in the original Plantation kitchen. Here the southern cooks will let you participate in cooking and tasting southern classics like biscuits with plantation smoked country ham, pecan pie, or home-raised honey and preserves. The tour also explores the kitchen's root cellar, her garden, and the largest antebellum smokehouse in the South where over 20,000 pounds of pork a year were smoked. The final stop will be a sampling of a tradition started on the Plantation in 1820 . . . their wines. Sample five of the wines grown in the Plantation's vineyards and have time to shop amongst the wine related items in the Winery and the Gift Shop's large line of hospitality oriented gift items. This tour will provide a true hands-on opportunity to learn through all five senses what makes cooking in the South so loved and imitated. Recipe cards will be handed out with treasured family secret recipes shared with all.
