Robyn M. McCamy

Robyn brought a wealth of experience with her, both personally and professionally when she entered the industry 4 years ago. Starting out as a waitress and bartender, she ultimately served as the Director of Special Events for a popular Nashville Restaurant. It wasn’t long before she joined The Southern Restaurant Group, and quickly rose through the ranks to be become Director of Marketing. In this position, she supervised, trained and mentored event planners in individual upscale restaurants.
In 2004, the desire to further and expand her career brought her to Destination Nashville where her ability to coalesce the needs and efforts of her co-workers, vendors and clients was responsible for her impressive advancement, graduating from Sales Manager to Senior Sales Manager to her current position as Associate Director of Sales, in only 4 short years.
Directing her staff and her projects with heart, Robyn embodies her guiding ethical standard; that influence is art, and that it begins in the heart of the leader. Her collaborative approach has earned her the respect and admiration of all with whom she has worked, as well as praise and recommendations, from every one of the events she has co-opted with her Destination Nashville team. Happy clients include Budget Blinds, Raymond James, Red Hat Society, Nissan, Microsoft, Taste of Home Entertaining, Ivy Funds, Blue Star, Vanguard and STAFDA.
It is her belief in her abilities and it is her approach to her responsibilities, combining both effort and accountability, that had her superiors at Destination Nashville select Robyn as the company representative in charge of introducing both The City Of Nashville, as well as the services offered by Destination Nashville, to both National Sales Managers and responsible employees at some of the largest hotels.
With her winning ways and infectious belief in the industry as a whole, as an active participant in her home chapter of MPI, she is personally responsible for recruiting many new members. Over the last four years, Robyn has held the following positions within the Tennessee Chapter of Meeting Professionals International.

In her current role of Vice President of Education for the Tennessee Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, Robyn emphasizes the importance of staying current in the industry and continuing education to her monthly chapter meetings with the following topics:

She has attended Global Events Partners (GEP) Executive Summits in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008. These summits are educational conferences encompassing hot-topic education opportunities, the sharing of best practices and a discussion of current meeting trends. She recently facilitated an open space technology session for Global Events Partners (GEP) Executive Summit at the latest summit held in Paris, France for her DMC peers.
Destination Nashville worked closely with GEP Corporate on the creation of the educational programming for the inaugural GEP “3 Tier Meeting” in 2007. The first 3 Tier Meeting offered specific educational sessions for DMC owners, sales and operations DMC professionals targeting their specific job needs and interests. She is currently participating in the second annual 2008 GEP 3-Tier Meeting being hosted in December in Nashville, TN.
Moving on the industry fast-track, Robyn participated in the DMC Network’s bi-annual meetings in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 where industry related topics were presented, best practices were shared and current meeting trends discussed.
Robyn continues to build herself a name the industry, representing the hospitality professionals with an effort and pride that is hard to find in many individuals. Her dedication to her clients, her company and her profession are second to none. Robyn has immersed herself in the DMC industry and is committed to the DMC profession.
