Senior Operations Manager

Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Katie graduated from Auburn University in 2002.  Katie began her career in event and meeting planning with Florida Children’s Hospital, where she planned children’s programs.  Relocating to Nashville in 2005, Katie grew her passion for the industry by volunteering for non-profit fundraising events.

In 2006 Katie joined the Conference Services Department at Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center where she worked with large corporate groups on all aspects of their programs. From transportation changes to last minute décor details, Katie became a master at meticulous preplanning and on site event operations.  With her knowledge and experience from her time at Opryland it was a smooth transition into the DMC world and Destination Nashville.

Since joining Destination Nashville, Katie has served on committees for the Association of Destination Management Executives.  She helped plan the 2009 ADME Achievement Awards Ceremony in San Antonia TX and the 2011 ADME Achievement Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas Nevada.  In 2009 Katie was promoted to Senior Operations Manager and in 2010 she received the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification through the Convention Industry Council.  Still passionate about children and children’s causes, Katie has become the “go to” girl at Destination Nashville for children’s educational programs and teambuilding.
